July 2007:
Sunday, July 22 2007 -- sfSound -- Two classics for soloist with electronics - Jacob Druckman's Animus I for trombone and tape, and Steve Reich's Reed Phase for clarinet and computer. Plus Elliott Carter's gripping song cycle Tempo e Tempi, the Chris Jones performing the bay area premiere of "Separate Machines" for solo piano, and new electro-acoustic works by Christopher Burns and Matt Ingalls. ODC Theater, San Francisco. 8pm.


June 2007: Sunday, June 24 2007 -- sfSound -- Featuring Edgard Varese's classic ensemble work Integrales (1925), Christopher Jones performing Helmut Lachenmann's monumental Serynade for solo piano, and premieres of chamber pieces by David Bithell (the eye (unblinking)) and Christopher Jones. Plus an improvisation by George Cremaschi, John Ingle, and Kjell Nordeson. ODC Theater, San Francisco. 8pm.


April 2007: April 16 2007 -- "IMAGE-THEATER-SOUND-ART" A Concert of New Genres.  New works by students in my Intermedia Performance Art course.  UNT Merrill Ellis Intermedia Theater.  Denton, TX.  8pm.


March 2007:

March 24-26 2007 -- NODUS Concert -- Florida International University.  I will be giving a lecture on my work (Monday, March 26) and performing as a guest artist on an evening concert (Saturday, March 24)Miami Art Central.  Miami, FL.  8pm (concert).


Monday, March 12 2007 -- Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia (CEMI) presents a concert of works by Mario Davidovsky with the composer in attendence.  I will be conducting Davidovsky's Romancero for Sop, Fl, Cl, Vn, and Vc.  UNT Recital Hall. Denton, TX. 8:00pm.


Monday, March 5 2007 -- Aural Tick Festival -- Texas A&M University.  I will be giving a lecture on my work and performing as a guest artist on an evening concertSupported by the Melbern G.   Monday, August 7 2006 -- sfSound -- Composer-performer Kyle Bruckmann presents his electrifying solo work Gasps and Fissures, using oboe, English horn, amplification, and electronics to create "music of claustrophobic intimacy and impossible physicality." Plus, a new sfSound version of Gavin Bryars' conceptual/ambient classic The Sinking of the Titanic. ODC Theater (17th and Shotwell in the Mission District), San Francisco. 8pm.

Monday, July 17 2006 -- sfSound showcases composer-performer Scott Rosenberg, with a solo saxophone performance, his Hums for large ensemble, and a new wind quintet Eeert composed for sfSoundGroup. The second half of the program features works for large ensemble, including music by Morton Feldman, Robert Ashley, and Louis Andriessen..   Friday, February 3 2006 -- I will perform Gaburo's Mouthpiece and my own The President Has His Photograph Taken as a guest artist with the Ensemble 20/21 at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA.


November 2005: November 9-13 2005 --  IS ARTI Festival of Contemporary Music in Kaunas, Lithuania.  The festival will include a concert of works featuring West-Coast electroacoustic music from David Bithell, Dorsey Dunn, Ali Momeni, Laetitia Sonami, and Vyautas Germanavicius.  Additional performances planned in Latvia and at STEIM in Amsterdam.


September 2006:

August 2005: Monday, August 1st 2005 --  sfSound - John Cage's "Concert for Piano and Orchestra" featuring soloist Christopher Jones, my new arrangment of Erik Satie's "Entr'acte" from the ballet "Relache" accompanied by René Clair's surrealist film, the premiere of John Shiurba's "Moon Cycle" for soprano and ensemble, and new improvisational works by members of the sfSoundGroup.

June 2005: Monday, June 27th 2005 --  sfSound - New and classic works for large ensembles, including sfSound's new arrangement of Krzysztof Pendercki's 1960's avant-garde classic "Fluorescences", Pauline Oliveros' choral work "Sound Patterns", Robert Erickson's "Pacific Sirens" for instruments and tape, Christian Wolff's "For five or ten people", and a new composition by Matt Ingalls.

May 2005: Monday, May 30th 2005 --  sfSoundGroup percussionist Chris Froh leads an ensemble of ten percussionists, three vocalists, and piccolo in a rare complete performance of Steve Reich's early masterwork Drumming (1970-71).  Plus solo and ensemble improvisations by members of sfSoundGroup.  Special $5 Admission!

February 2005: Monday, February 28th 2005 --  sfSoundGroup -- Special guest virtuoso-violinist Mark Menzies joins us for a survey of thirty-five years of new music from Germany, starting with Karlheinz Stockhausen's Kurzwellen for instrumentalists with shortwave radios and electronics. Also featured are works by Mathias Spahlinger, Olga Neuwirth, Helmut Lachenmann, and Bay Area resident Philipp Blume.

Monday, January 10th 2005 --  sfSoundGroup -- LUMEN -- We kick off 1 of 6+3 concerts in our 2005 residency at ODC Theater with a sampling of what sfSound does best: 1 program featuring complex notation + virtuosic improvisation + electronic sound + 1 american experimental music classic + 1 creative transcription project. We premiere Emeryville composer David Bithell's highly original hour-length work that is part trumpet concerto, part performance art exploration.
